To make this happen, we are looking for a Head of engineering. 

Role overview

As Head of Engineering, you will be the steward of our engineering organisation and its voice within the company. This role is a critical bridge between the software and hardware teams building our products and the broader strategic and operational priorities of the business. You will ensure that engineering is not only executing effectively, but that its perspectives, constraints, and innovations are fully integrated into how the company makes decisions and sets direction. The Head of engineering takes care of the growth, personal development and wellbeing for all our engineering teams. We will grow our engineering teams (from ca 20 to 45 fte) the next few years in line with our growth ambition as an organization. The Head of Engineering should facilitate the growth of the team while the individuals get the best out of themselves.  Each engineering team currently has a colleague with a people lead responsibility. These persons are the liaison between the Head of Engineering and the engineers. You will be closely working with the head of people and culture, agile coach, product managers and CTO. 

Key responsibilities

  • Drive delivery excellence and developer experience continuously improving the flow of work, and balancing speed with quality.

  • Define and track engineering health metrics to guide improvements and demonstrate impact.

  • Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, safety and transparency

  • Oversee and align the hiring plan of all engineering teams and build scalable hiring pipelines together with the recruitment team. 

  • Own and refine the org-wide Growth & Compensation Framework from an engineering perspective.

  • Act as a thought partner for tech leads, people leads, product managers and the agile coach

  • Facilitate cross-team decision making, thereby aligning and evolving engineering principles, such as code quality, security, observability and AI strategy, as well as consistent architectural direction.

  • Advocating for engineering priorities in cross-functional discussions and acting as a technical voice at the executive level 


Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working with software dominant engineering teams, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Demonstrated success growing teams in a scale up environment.

  • Significant working experience as a software engineer.

  • Open and positive communication style.
